Looking to buy a new wing?
Cloud 9 has access to a wide range of demo gliders available. Not only are we the main hub for Ozone’s demo fleet, but we also carry our own stock of demo gliders, available to local and visiting pilots with the proper ratings and training.
Demo gliders allow you to get the feel of a new glider and its characteristics before committing to a purchase. Unfortunately, we can’t have a demo of every glider on the market, but our team is always available for advice when picking your next glider!
What You’ll Need
Demo gliders are available to any rated pilot visiting the Point. You will need to stop by the shop with your current USHPA card, a form of valid ID, and a credit card to have on file during the duration of your demo. There will be a release waiver you need to sign, and then go have fun!
Rules for Demoing Gliders
Cloud 9 has demo gliders available to pilots with the correct ratings. Here are our guidelines:
- P2: Can fly EN certified LOW B wings and below. No mini-wing demos allowed.
- P3: Can fly EN certified C wings and below. No mini-wing demos allowed.
- P4: Can fly EN certified D wings and below. No mini-wing demos allowed.
- M1/S2: Can fly mini-paragliders 15m and above and any true speedwing, within the recommended weight range.
- M2/S3: Can fly any mini-paraglider and speedwing inside or outside the recommended weight range. Can also demo parakites.
Demos are only allowed at the South Side and North Side Flight Parks. No acrobatics, downwind ‘swoop’ landings, or any maneuvers that would drastically shorten the life of the glider are allowed.
Demo wings are available to use for up to two calendar days. A late fee of $10/day will apply to any wings that are not returned after three calendar days.
Demo gliders must be returned to the shop at 12665 S Minuteman Drive #1 Draper, UT 84020. They may not be given to an instructor at the hill.
Is there a fee to demo?
Demoing gliders is completely free! However, a late fee of $10/day will be automatically charged to the credit card on file if you keep the glider past its two day limit.
Can I demo multiple wings at once?
You can demo up to two gliders at the same time.
What if I don’t have the proper rating?
Our team of world class instructors can get you signed up for lessons in order to get you certified so you can try out one of our demos.
